Why this works

This riddle cleverly plays with the characteristics of fire, using personification to attribute human-like qualities to it. Although fire doesn't have legs to dance, it appears to "dance" with its flickering flames. It doesn't have lungs to breathe, yet it consumes oxygen in the process of combustion, and while it isn't a living entity, it can "live" as long as it has fuel and "die" when it runs out of resources or is extinguished.
