A calendar displays dates in a sequential manner, with yesterday always preceding today; it does not reorder or redefine the concept of time like a dictionary does.

“A clock”

A clock measures the passage of time and does not rearrange or redefine the order of days, unlike a dictionary where words are sorted alphabetically.
